The Curriculum and Topics Covered.
Our aim is to give all children the basic skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening, mathematics, art and design, information communication technology, design technology, religious education, science, history, geography, music, physical education and citizenship. We then develop these skills through integrated work. As much as possible, children learn through first hand experience, and through practical activities. The curriculum is designed to develop the individual skills of each child. We aim to give each child success at their own level, and build on that success so that the child develops confidence.
In Reception children follow the Foundation Curriculum. This curriculum covers 6 areas of learning: Language and Literacy, Mathematics, Knowledge and Understanding of the World, Creative, Physical and Personal and Social.
In Key Stage 1 pupils' follow the National Curriculum as well as the National Literacy Strategy and the National Numeracy Strategy.
